血小板増多・血栓症・感染症におけるIPF
血小板増多性疾患において、IPF高値は血栓症（参考：血管内皮の抗血栓性物質と線溶）の危険因子と報告されています（参考：骨髄増殖性疾患：真性赤血球増加症、本態性血小板血症と血栓症）。

抗血小板療法の効果判定にも有用かもしれません。

また、感染症によりIPF が若干増加する可能性が示唆されていましたが、逆にこれを利用して、IPFを細菌感染症の早期診断に利用するという試みもあります。
